The Formula 1 United States Grand Prix streams live on Apple TV in the U.S. this weekend, Apple said on Oct. 22, with its broadcast of the race on Sunday, Oct. 25.

The event is at Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas. In the U.S., Apple TV is the only place to stream it, and Apple says every session is live and on demand.

What the coverage includes

Apple said commentary is available in English and Spanish, along with up to 30 additional live feeds across all sessions. Examples are a Driver Tracker, timing and data feeds and a mixed onboard camera. Apple also lists a Podium feed that tracks the top three cars, which its footnote limits to some sessions.

Multiview puts up to four live feeds on one screen. Apple said it now works on supported smart TVs as well as Apple devices and streaming players.

Apple also said this is the first Formula 1 broadcast in Dolby Atmos, which joins Dolby Vision on Apple TV. It needs compatible devices and sound systems.

Shows around the race

Apple’s own programs for the weekend include the track preview Circuits in Focus with Nico Rosberg and Emelia Hartford, a Full Throttle episode with Christina Roki and driver Yuki Tsunoda, and The POV, a social series reacting to the weekend’s biggest moments.

Tubi will run a free alternative broadcast, The Fast Lane, hosted by Michelle Khare and Justin Bell. It is the show’s second F1 altcast this season. Separately, IMAX screens the race live at more than 50 U.S. locations.

How to watch

Viewers need a U.S. Apple TV subscription, priced at $14.99 a month with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. The app runs on Apple devices, Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast with Google TV, PlayStation, Xbox and many smart TVs, and the service is also on the web at tv.apple.com.

Apple’s announcement does not say where UK viewers can watch, and it gives no session start times, so check the Apple TV app for the schedule. We have not confirmed a UK broadcaster from an official source.
