Netflix said on Oct. 20 that Lee Chang-dong’s film Possible Love will stream worldwide on Nov. 6, and released a final trailer for it. The streamer did not give a release time.

The story centers on two pairs of spouses. One pair includes a man who lost his job; the other includes a documentary filmmaker. According to Netflix, they meet while shooting a documentary, and the film looks at the very different lives and private desires of the four people.

Netflix names Jeon Do-yeon as Mi-ok, Sul Kyung-gu as her husband Ho-seok, and Cho Yeo-jeong as Ye-ji. Ye-ji is the filmmaker. Lee Chang-dong directs. Netflix’s announcement describes the new trailer as opening with Mi-ok singing the line “All I Know is Love” and shows Ye-ji proposing that both couples take a vacation together.

Netflix’s announcement says the film has been well received at international film festivals and by audiences. It quotes five critics, among them David Ehrlich of IndieWire, who gave the film an A, and Jessica Kiang of Variety, who called it “a shimmering, sonorous work from one of our greatest living directors.” The quotes are Netflix’s selection from reviews, and we have not tested them against the full reviews.

Where to watch Possible Love

Netflix says the film is a global release, so the Nov. 6 date applies to the United States and the United Kingdom alike. The announcement does not list a time or a theatrical run, so we have not given one. The where-to-watch box lists the date for both countries.

What the announcement does not say

Netflix has not published the film’s running time, a rating or a language note in this announcement. The description of the trailer above comes from Netflix’s own write-up of the footage. We have not embedded the trailer because we have not confirmed its video link on the streamer’s own channel.

The next confirmed date is Nov. 6, when the film arrives on Netflix. We will update the story if Netflix publishes a release time or a theatrical run.
