Warner Bros. Discovery said on Oct. 22 that the A24 film Tony will arrive on HBO Max on Nov. 20, in its list of what is coming to the service in November.

Tony is directed by Matt Johnson, who wrote it with Matthew Miller, Todd Bartels and Lou Howe. The company describes a 19-year-old Anthony Bourdain who goes to Provincetown, takes a job in a hectic restaurant kitchen and spends a summer that shapes his later life. Dominic Sessa and Emilia Jones star, with Dagmara Dominczyk, Rich Sommers and Stavros Halkias in the cast. Leo Woodall and Antonio Banderas also appear.

The list names three other films by date. The Roses, the 2025 film, arrives on Nov. 20, the same day as Tony. Madame Web arrives on Nov. 14. The Magic Faraway Tree, listed as a 2026 film, arrives on Nov. 27.

Where to watch

All four dates come from a US press release from Warner Bros. Discovery. The company gives no UK dates and no release times, and says its list may not be complete and can change. The where-to-watch box therefore lists Tony for the US only, and shows the UK as not confirmed.

More films on the list

The November list also has older films arriving on Nov. 1, among them Elf, Jerry Maguire, Scream (1996), The Polar Express, Dune (1984) and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018). The four Planet of the Apes films from 2011 to 2024 arrive on Nov. 2. Smallfoot arrives on Nov. 4.

HBO Max also lists new original documentaries in the month. When a Witness Recants arrives on Nov. 17, The Hotline on Nov. 18, The Buffalo Miracle on Nov. 24 and The Slightest Touch on Nov. 25. Its original series include The Gilded Age season 4 on Nov. 1 and City of God: The Fight Rages On season 2 on Nov. 8.
