Apple TV said “Nocturne” will start streaming on Friday, Oct. 30, with the first two episodes, in what Apple calls a global debut.
Apple announced the date on July 7 and repeated it with the trailer on Sept. 29 and after a New York premiere event on Oct. 20. New episodes follow every Friday through Dec. 25, according to Apple. That makes nine release days for 10 episodes: two on opening night, then one a week from Nov. 6.
Apple has not published a release time for the episodes, so check the Apple TV app on Friday for when they appear in your country.
Who is in it
Liev Schreiber plays Jonah Lynn, a former soldier turned homicide detective who leaves Philadelphia for a small town in western Pennsylvania. Zazie Beetz plays FBI agent Saga Bauer, and Stephen Graham plays the serial killer Jurek Walter. Apple’s cast list also names Bill Camp, Rory Culkin, Chrissy Metz, Poorna Jagannathan and Gary Carr.
The series is based on two novels by the writing duo Lars Kepler, “Lazarus” and “The Sandman.” Rowan JoffĂ© created it for television and John Hlavin developed it and runs the show. Tim Van Patten directed the first two episodes. A+E Studios produced it with Range Studios.

“Nocturne” is an Apple TV original and streams only on Apple TV. Apple lists the service at $14.99 a month in the U.S., with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers. Apple’s announcements do not give prices outside the U.S.
