Disney and Channel 4 will bring the broadcaster’s live channel and shows to Disney+ in the UK and Ireland in early 2027, The Hollywood Reporter reported on Oct. 26.

The report quotes a statement from the two companies. Disney and Channel 4 have not published a separate press page that we could open, so this story rests on the trade outlet’s report of that statement. Financial terms were not disclosed.

What Disney+ customers get

Per The Hollywood Reporter, subscribers in the UK and Ireland get Channel 4’s HD live channel and a large on-demand library of its drama, comedy and reality shows. Big Mood, Tip Toe and 24 Hours in A&E are named as examples. There is no extra charge on top of an existing subscription.

The partners said multiple Channel 4 shows will arrive on Disney+ each year on the same day they are released through Channel 4. They named the drama Maya, with Bella Ramsey, the comedy Stepping Up, with Denise Welch, and the reality format Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Channel 4 will appear in its own branded section of Disney+, with the same navigation as the rest of the service.

What each side said

Adam Smith, chairman of direct-to-consumer at Disney Entertainment, said Channel 4 “has created shows with strong appeal to audiences in the U.K. and Ireland.” Channel 4 chief executive Priya Dogra said the service will help its shows “reach viewers in new places.”

Dogra told the outlet that Channel 4’s own channel and streaming service remain the home of most of its programming. Karl Holmes, who runs Disney+ in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, called it the company’s most ambitious deal of its kind yet.

How it fits Disney’s other deals

The Hollywood Reporter lists earlier Disney+ agreements with ITV in the UK, Italy’s RAI, ARD and ZDF in Germany, SIC in Portugal, and RTVE and Atresmedia in Spain.

What is still unknown

What happens next

The service is due to arrive in early 2027. Disney and Channel 4 said launch timing and the content lineup will follow.
