Prime Video said on Monday, Oct. 26 that the documentary Terrell & T.O., about NFL receiver Terrell Owens, premieres Thursday, Nov. 5.

The company released the official trailer and artwork at the same time. The documentary runs feature length and follows Owens from his early years through his Hall of Fame career, then catches up with him today.

What the film covers

Owens was a third-round pick in the 1996 NFL Draft from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Prime Video says, and he played with Steve Young and Jerry Rice, both Hall of Famers. The company credits his power and showmanship with changing how receivers play and how players express themselves.

It also covers his clashes in locker rooms, his strained dealings with the press and his on-field celebrations. Prime Video says the film examines how he came to stand for a clash between playing as an individual and playing as part of a team.

Who is interviewed

Interviews include Owens, family members and close friends. Former 49ers Young, Rice and Jeff Garcia appear, with former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, journalists Jemele Hill and Skip Bayless and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Former Eagles Ike Reese and Freddie Mitchell also appear, as does Andy Reid, who coached Owens in Philadelphia.

Who made it

It is presented by Prime Video Sports and Skydance Sports and produced by NFL Films with House of Nonfiction. Alexandria Stapleton of House of Nonfiction directs and produces. Jason Perez, Mark Ciardi, Basil Iwanyk and Ben Bitoni are producers.

Where and when to watch

The film streams only on Prime Video, in more than 240 countries and territories, so it is available in the US and the UK. The announcement gave one date and did not split it by country, so the where-to-watch box shows Nov. 5 for the US and the UK. We will correct it if a different UK date comes out. No release time was given, so the hour in each country is not yet known.

What happens next

Terrell & T.O. premieres on Prime Video on Thursday, Nov. 5. The announcement did not name a release time.
